CDC’S new framework

THE expiry of the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention’s Conditiona­l Sailing Order, and its replacemen­t by a new voluntary framework, saw strict regulation­s controllin­g the resumption of American cruising lifted last month.

Cruise Lines Internatio­nal Associatio­n (CLIA) has hailed the move, saying it “recognises the cruise industry’s unwavering commitment to providing some of the highest levels of COVID-19 mitigation found in any industry”.

CLIA told travelbull­etin the industry is the only segment within the travel and tourism industry which requires exceedingl­y high levels of vaccinatio­n of both passengers and crew prior to embarkatio­n.
