Int’l pax up 5.4%

IN­TER­NA­TIONAL pas­sen­ger move­ments through Aus­tralia’s air­ports con­tin­ued to grow dur­ing Mar, in­creas­ing 5.4% on the same pe­riod last year.

Fig­ures re­leased by the Bureau of In­fras­truc­ture, Trans­port and Re­gional Eco­nom­ics (BITRE) also show a 2.4% in­crease in do­mes­tic trav­ellers, re­sult­ing in a 3.1% over­all in­crease in pas­sen­gers.

In all, 12.7 mil­lion pas­sen­gers passed through Aus­tralia’s air­ports in Mar, in­clud­ing 3 mil­lion in­ter­na­tion­als.

The Sun­shine Coast ex­pe­ri­enced the great­est growth of all Aus­tralian air­ports, with pas­sen­ger num­bers up 12.9%.
