THE rumoured acquisition of TravelClick by Amadeus ( TD 03 Aug) has been confirmed, with a US$1.52 billion deal set to see over 1,100 TravelClick staff join the Amadeus team.

TravelClick offers a range of services including cloud-based guest management solutions and a Central Reservation System for independent & mid-sized hotels.

TravelClick is headquartered in New York City and currently has over 25,000 customers in 176 countries across the globe.

“The addition of TravelClick’s solutions to the Amadeus portfolio will create a hospitality leader providing a broad range of innovative technology to hotels and chains of all sizes across the globe,” the companies said.

Spokesman Francisco Perez- Lozao said alongside existing strong relationships with large hotel groups such as IHG ( TD 29 Apr 2015), the TravelClick deal gave Amadeus access to the mid-chain and independent hotel segment that made up almost three-quarters of the market.

“We can now serve the entire industry with a very broad portfolio of solutions and we are looking for significant growth in the years ahead.”
