Cebu brings MEL to MNL

MEL­BOURNE Air­port has of­fi­cially wel­comed Cebu Pa­cific Air, with the in­au­gu­ral MEL-MNL ser­vice tak­ing off yes­ter­day after­noon ( TD yes­ter­day).

The new non­stop ser­vice will con­nect trav­ellers from Mel­bourne to Manila three times per week, de­part­ing at 5:05pm & land­ing in Manila at 11:15pm.

Am­bas­sador Minda Calaguian- Cruz of the Philip­pine Em­bassy in Can­berra said the new ser­vice would strengthen ties be­tween Vic­to­ria and the Philip­pines.

“The Philip­pine Em­bassy looks for­ward to build­ing on this part­ner­ship with Cebu Pa­cific, to­gether with the De­part­ment of Tourism of the Philip­pines, to show­case more of our cul­ture and her­itage,” she said.

Cebu Pa­cific chief op­er­a­tions of­fi­cer Rick How­ell also wel­comed the ser­vice, adding that the route was a “won­der­ful op­por­tu­nity to live up to the Cebu Pa­cific mis­sion of bring­ing peo­ple to­gether through safe, af­ford­able, and re­li­able air travel”.

Mel­bourne is the sec­ond des­ti­na­tion in the coun­try for the air­line fol­low­ing its 2014 launch in Syd­ney ( TD 09 Sep 2014).
