UAE bud­get car­rier

ETI­HAD Avi­a­tion Group and Air Ara­bia have signed an agree­ment to launch Air Ara­bia Abu Dhabi, the United Arab Emi­rates cap­i­tal’s first low-cost car­rier.

The new air­line will com­ple­ment Eti­had Air­ways’ cur­rent ser­vices from Abu Dhabi and will cater to the grow­ing bud­get travel mar­ket seg­ment in the re­gion.

“Travel and tourism play a vi­tal role in the eco­nomic growth of the cap­i­tal and the UAE, by part­ner­ing with Air Ara­bia and launch­ing Abu Dhabi’s first low­cost car­rier, we are serv­ing this long-term vi­sion,” said Eti­had Avi­a­tion Group Chief Ex­ec­u­tive Of­fi­cer Tony Dou­glas.

The new part­ner­ship air­line en­ters the low-cost mar­ket as a ri­val to fly­dubai, which has in be­come more closely as­so­ci­ated with fel­low Dubai-based car­rier Emi­rates in re­cent times.
