La Mai­son Ho­tel in Saar­louis, Ger­many has com­pleted a two-year con­struc­tion pro­gram, re­veal­ing the ad­di­tion of 12 new gue­strooms and suites in a “strik­ing mod­ern ex­ten­sion”. The rooms are fin­ished with tim­ber pan­elling and oiled oak floors, each fea­tur­ing rat­tan cab­in­ertry, mar­ble basins and Art-Nou­veau-in­spired tiles in a nod to the prop­erty’s 20th Cen­tury roots.

World Re­sorts of Dis­tinc­tion’s Qamea Re­sort & Spa in Fiji has re­vealed a se­ries of en­hance­ments to its jun­gle bu­res, in­clud­ing re-thatch­ing on the out­side plus new var­nished ma­hogany floors in­side. The re­sort gym has also had a makeover to in­clude a newly raised roof for bet­ter air­flow and floor-to-ceil­ing win­dows. The gym’s car­dio equip­ment has also been over­hauled.

The pri­vate is­land re­sort of COMO Co­coa Is­land, lo­cated in the South Male Atoll in the Mal­dives, is set to re­open on 09 Jan af­ter a sub­stan­tial ren­o­va­tion. The up­date in­cludes a fo­cus on holis­tic well­ness, with the prop­erty adding a new pi­lates stu­dio that takes in 360-de­gree views over the la­goon. Vil­las now also fea­ture coral-rock walls and wood, with plat­forms giv­ing direct la­goon ac­cess.
