This is the oldest and largest cathedral in Latin America.

Construction began in 1573 but took just under 250 years to build meaning that it is a mix of architectural styles including gothic and baroque as well as incorporating local designs.

However as well as being famous for its age and size, the cathedral also houses an extensive art collection as well as a series of catacombs.
