Whose animal is this?

-

ALTHOUGH the national animal of this country, the striped hyena is not the most loved in this nation, and its scavenging is often mistaken by hunger for livestock by farmers.

Striped hyenas are smaller than their spotted cousins which live in sub-Saharan Africa.

They are native to North Africa and the Middle East and play an important part in the ecosystem by consuming rotting meat and preventing the spread of disease.

Do you know which Middle Eastern country, located on the Mediterranean, the hyena belongs to?
