Tourism Fiji appoints

TOURISM Fiji has announced the appointment of Robert Thompson as Executive Head of Regions, a new role overseeing activities across its global offices.

Thompson has been Regional Director Australia since 2019, and more recently served as Acting Chief Executive Officer from Dec 2020 until Jul 2021, after the departure of Matt Stoeckel, who returned to Australia.

His broad experience has been an asset to Tourism Fiji and the tourism body said the new role would further strengthen its global teams in marketing Fiji to the rest of the world.

Thompson retains his role as Regional Director Australia and will be based in Sydney, while also spending some time in Fiji.
