PALERMO does not have to do too much to sell itself as a tourist destination - the city is noted for its history, culture, architecture and gastronomy.

However, Palermo was recently the setting of a joyride by Belgian racing driver Max Verstappen, who was on his way through the Sicilian capital to compete in the Italian GP.
