Vax travel support
NEW polling conducted by The Guardian has found that 77% of respondents believe vaccines should be compulsory for all airline travellers.
The media outlet’s Essential survey also found that one in five Australians are prepared to accept “some deaths” if it meant normalising international travel because “the cost of remaining closed is too high”.
Anxieties related to health risks associated with rebooting international travel were found to be higher in Western Australia and Queensland when compared to states battling Delta outbreaks like NSW and Vic.
The poll of 1,100 people also identified a communications issue with the Federal Government’s four-phase plan to reopen Australia, with only one in four respondents stating they fully understand the strategy to reopen to travel once the nation hits 80% vaccinated.
