AFTER starting a mafia war between Italian mob families in New York, the main character of this movie flees to this small Sicilian town.

Called Savoca in real life, it stood in for the fictional Corleone in the film and was chosen because at the time it was relatively untouched by progress and had fewer issues with the local mafia.
