AFTA appointmen­t

THE Australian Federation of Travel Agents (AFTA) has appointed Elise Barassi as a dedicated mental health resource for AFTA members.

Melbourne-based Barassi is a qualified counsellor, but also has a travel background having previously worked as a flight attendant and tour leader.

Her position is fully funded by the Victorian Govt until 30 Jun next year, and she is available to provide bespoke mental health support to business owners, family members and employees.

Her services will include phone/ Zoom support, on-site visits in Melbourne when lockdowns end, and advice via AFTA webinars.

AFTA said it was “proud to be able to offer this resource to our members who have faced devastatin­g challenges over the last 18 months, and to be able to continue to support members as we navigate the path to recovery”.
