Billy Mac’s new memorial

IRASCIBLE travel industry character Bill McNamara, who died suddenly just before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic (TD 11 Mar 2020), has been remembered with a unique “true blue” headstone (pictured).

The edifice has appeared courtesy of Bill’s long-time friend and industry colleague, Randall Lui, and celebrates his unique character with a characteristic Billy Mac one-liner: “was not here for a long time, but had a bloody good time”.

McNamara continues to be remembered for his friendship, generosity and wit, after having been orphaned at the age of 12 he forged an outstanding career with Pan Am, Hilton Hotels and British Caledonian Airways, before establishing his own longstanding Air Marketing business.
