Sun will rise again

Qantas CEO Alan Joyce has suggested the airline’s longawaited Project Sunrise, which will see direct flights to London and New York, will likely take off at some stage in 2024 or 2025.

Joyce made the comments while speaking at the IATA AGM in Boston over the weekend, with the project delayed close to its initial launch plan by the onset of the pandemic, with Qantas almost signing the A350-1000s needed for the trip in early 2020.
