HAL’s godmother

HOLLAND America Line (HAL) has named Princess Margriet of the Netherlands godmother of Rotterdam, continuing on a connection to the Dutch royal house which began almost 100 years ago.

Duke Henry of MecklenburgSchwerin launched Statendam III in 1929, and since then, members of the royal house have launched 12 ships.

Rotterdam will be the fifth HAL ship Princess Margriet has named, including most recently

Oosterdam, in 2003.
