QF DFW debacle

QANTAS customer service is very much in focus today after the carrier was forced to delay a flight from Dallas-Fort Worth to Sydney by more than 24 hours.

The incident, which disrupted 300 passengers aboard a 787-9 on Wed night, took longer than expected to resolve meaning more delays because of the curfew restrictio­ns at SYD.

The Australian reported passengers were told they would be reimbursed if they made their own arrangemen­ts for accommodat­ion, but a shortage of hotel rooms meant many slept in the airport terminal.

Complaints about the issue on social media led to a significan­t pile-on by other aggrieved QF customers venting about call wait times, unusable flight credits and lost luggage.
