As we make our way into fall, I can’t help but reflect on the season of travel I’ve experienced in the past few months. From wine tours of the Douro Valley and dips in the rocky ocean pools of Madeira, Portugal, to weekends in Miami, Dallas and the Finger Lakes of New York, it’s safe to say I have taken advantage of the warm weather this year, experiencing some of the trendier destinations in travel right now.

While I navigate my way through this era of life, nothing is more exciting than ticking off some of my bucket-list trips and getting to prioritize travel. In this year’s Trazee Travel digital edition, I look forward to adding some of the lesser-known pilgrimage destinations mentioned in the article on page 38 to my list, and I’m taking notes on the ultimate European vacation (page 18) to plan for my 2024 travel season.

As I look forward to the year ahead, I have to remember this year isn’t over yet. For me, nothing is more exciting than the cool descent into autumn, when the weather enters near-perfect territory for donning our favorite sweaters, enjoying the changing of the leaves and the beginning of spooky season. Speaking of spooky, the guide to haunted tourism found in this issue (page 24) will definitely influence travel planning for the rest of this year as we pass through October.

This exciting issue is sure to inspire you, not only as we highlight the best in travel, as voted by our Trazee Travel readers and honored at the 2023 The Trazees, but also in the unique guides shared throughout this edition. Here’s to a fabulous close to 2023 and an exciting year of travel ahead!
