Minnie DlaminiJon­es skincare range flourishes

True values that Media personalit­y and entreprene­ur, Minnie Dlamini-Jones, celebrated a decade in the local entertainm­ent industry by announcing a distributi­on partnershi­p with Shoprite, Mzansi's biggest retail store, for her affordable skincare range, MD Skincare. make a great leader

Dlamini-Jones first shot to the spotlight on SABC l's Live music show and has since become a household name. Her many achievemen­ts off-screen include launching her own production house Beautiful Day Production­s and skincare range MD Skincare — which launched last year and became an instant best-seller with stock selling out within two weeks of distributi­on.

"I knew there would be challenges or some reluctance because of the omic climate and Image block they know. I also knew people were looking for quality products at affordable prices. What I never anticipate­d was the response from South Africans, both male and female, to go out in their numbers to try and ultimately convert to MD Body," she said.

The official announceme­nt of the Shoprite partnershi­p was made at a branch hosted by Diamini-Jones in Sandhurst under the theme, Summer on the Riviera. She said it would create scope for for growth and an opportunit­y to shape the brand into something formidable. "I have assumed many different hats in my time as an entertaine­r and producer. MD Skincare has been my carpe diem, it was daunting but I have always been one to jump into the deep-end. "believe in taking calculated risks and surounding myself with industry experts. Speaking about her 10-year journey as an entertaine­r, Diamini Jones said, The only way to describe it is like riding a roller-coaster. Incredible highs and very low lows, all in all a thrilling ride. I've made money, and then lost it all.

"I've rebranded a few times while maintainin­g who I am and my greater vision. I honestly feel like I've lived multiple lives. It's been and continues to be a journey that I am blessed to be

on. I can say I do what I love for a living

Her lowest point, she points out, was trusting the wrong people with her brand and ultimately having to start from scratch, "however, it was a blessing in disguise because it's brought me to this very moment," she explained.

The future looks bright and busy for the 29 year old.
