Racing weight cookbook
cordee.co.uk written by coach and fitness writer Matt Fitzgerald as a follow up to
his weightloss manual for athletes, with dietician Georgie Fear, this is a great guide and reference for anyone struggling to simplify all the nutrition advice out there for reaching a good weight for triathlon. The book starts with a recap of Fitzgerald’s sensible Racing Weight system, which includes a method of scoring your diet quality (that is then referenced under the recipes). The recipes themselves are divided into two main sections: the first for athletes who don’t cook and the second for more confident home chefs. In fact, we didn’t find any of the breakfast, lunch or dinner recipes complicated: in focusing on quality ingredients and sound nutrition they are naturally simple (and perhaps a bit of a letdown for those with more adventurous tastes – but this is a diet book, after all). As ever, the only problem you might encounter is convincing your partner to give up the weekly takeaways.
