THIS IS AN expensive looking – and feeling – suit for an entry level price. Our testers liked the light, supple neoprene and “Shark Skin Forearm grip” which allowed for a top-class catch, and pull-effect, through the water. The downwards fastening zip might prevent accidental unzipping by other athletes in a race but makes it impossible to get into this suit without assistance. Unfortunately, and in spite of the internal Lycra jersey lining for extra comfort, our testers found the seams on the rough side and worried about chafing over long distances. The buoyancy in the legs was particularly effective – but possibly on the overbuoyant side compared to the rest of the suit. “I usually like buoyancy but it felt like my legs were too high in the water compared to the rest of me,” said one tester. A low cut neck prevents irritation and restriction while high cut-offs on the legs and wrists allow for zippy transitions.
