off by the busy design as the Ali’i is a comfy light race shoe. The locking system is a bit tricky at first but it’s easy to get the hang of, though you might lose precious seconds in transition. While it gives good comfort across the top of the foot some testers would have preferred more support lower on the foot. The neutral shoe has a good road feel on the forefoot strike and a light responsive feel. Despite a lean sole it has ample cushioning on the heel, plus it was comfortable without socks with no rubbing seams and good breathability.
