Coach­ing Ed­i­tor Phil is an Iron­man Cer­ti­fied Coach with 20 years ex­pe­ri­ence. His race CV in­cludes top-10 Iron­man 70.3 fin­ishes, sev­eral na­tional age-group ti­tles and an 8 hour 55 minute Iron­man. He runs the triathlon coach­ing busi­ness mypro­, where he writes a pop­u­lar fort­nightly train­ing ad­vice blog.


Nigel Mitchell is a lead­ing per­for­mance nu­tri­tion­ist who has worked with a num­ber of high per­for­mance teams in­clud­ing Team Sky and, more re­cently, Cannondale Dra­pac Cy­cling. Nigel spe­cialises in per­for­mance fo­cused di­ets. Nigel is also a mem­ber of the Healthspan Elite expert panel where he sup­ports the de­vel­op­ment of high-qual­ity vi­ta­mins and sup­ple­ments.


Guy Kesteven has been test­ing bikes and com­po­nents pro­fes­sion­ally for 18 years, and was rid­ing ev­ery bike he could try for a decade be­fore that. That gives him an un­par­al­leled knowl­edge base to com­pare ev­ery­thing from af­ford­able first bikes to state-of-the-art su­per­bikes.

News ed­i­tor Fiona started run­ning 15 years ago, but af­ter seven marathons (and con­stant in­jury) she switched to triathlon and has man­aged to re­main pain-free. She’s com­pleted var­i­ous dis­tances, in­clud­ing a half-Iron­man and over­came a terror of clip-in shoes and open wa­ter in the process. She com­pleted her first Iron-dis­tance race last year.
