Triathlon Plus - - Mail Box -

Earlier this year, I was lucky enough to have my letter – asking for a swimmer to join my relay team at the Brownlee Tri – printed in your magazine (May edition, issue 92).

I was thrilled when a young lady, Andrea Bowen, answered my cry for help. We had a great time at the event at Harewood House where Andrea swam, I did the cycle and my son, Lee, completed the run.

We didn’t win but we weren’t last either! Andrea clocked up a PB time and was brilliant. Alistair and Jonny Brownlee spent the day signing autographs, being photographed and chatting to everyone. What great ambassadors they are – both for themselves and the wonderful sport of triathlon.

Thank you for printing my letter way back then, and thank you to Andrea, Lee, Ali and Jonny for making the day great. Len (Charles) Cousens, Lowestoft, Suffolk Editor says: Glad to have been of assistance, Len. Good luck for your 36th London Marathon. (Len is a member of the Ever Presents who have completed every single London Marathon since it launched in 1981).
