BROTHERS up in arms!
Freed from jail, a tormented Tyler’s first thought is confronting Cassius, the newfound half-brother who made his life hell!
Cassius being under lock and key has upended the Brennan family’s lives now that he’s awaiting prosecution for the murder of Hamish Roche, his biological father. The truth leaves the Brennans on tenterhooks as Tyler, who was framed by Cassius for their dad’s violent bludgeoning and drowning in a hot tub, now stands to be freed.
After the murder charges are downgraded to assault, the family gets their wish to see Tyler (Travis Burns) return home when he’s extradited from Adelaide to attend a hearing. He feels awkward, focusing only on questions about Piper’s (Mavournee Hazel) relationship with Cassius (Joe Davidson). Aware of his brother’s turmoil, Mark (Scott McGregor) softens the blow. But learning that nobody knew Cassius’s true identity and that he gave the family’s blessing to date Piper overwhelms a riled Tyler; he doesn’t want anything to do with her...
Tortured by all he’s endured over the past eight months behind bars and how much life on the outside has changed while he’s been banged up, Tyler needs to try to forget the past, making the radical decision to confront Cassius in jail. Face-to-face with the sibling he never knew he had, Tyler can’t contain his fury! How could a man who shares his blood and who pledges to love Piper reconcile leaving him to rot for something he didn’t do? Cassius’s apologies and excuses leave Tyler irate and feeling totally ripped apart.
Unable to bear the sight of Cassius any longer, Tyler storms out to consider the best way to forget everything. However, he’s horri ed to think he’ll never be rid of the scourge of a prison cell when Piper receives news that Cassius has been taken to hospital after a severe bashing from another inmate! Devastated at the thought of him being hurt, Piper instinctively blames Tyler, despairing that she has no idea who he is since his release.
Wounded to think she suspects him of such violent retribution, Tyler’s in mental turmoil, compounded by police interrogation over the assault. Sinking into a dark abyss, Tyler rejects his sibling’s efforts to improve his mood, and at his lowest ebb, feels that the whole world’s turned against him! TVS
