Jilted by Jane!
Given the chance to pursue romantic happiness with an old friend, Paul does his best to blow it!
Leaving Erinsborough after a short visit months ago, Jane Harris promised her longtime friend Paul that she would love to return to her old neighbourhood and pick up on the blossoming romance that had slowly developed between them while she was on Ramsay Street. Paul was thrilled at the prospect – and his feelings weren’t lost on his family, who wondered if the love of a good woman like Jane could be the antidote to Paul’s often destructive behaviour.
Months later, and with Paul (Stefan Dennis) on a vengeful bender to wreck Amy (Zoe Cramond) and Leo’s (Tim Kano) relationships with Gary (Damian Richardson) and Terese (Rebekah Elmaloglou), his children and their partners strike back with the arrival of surprise hotel guest Jane (Annie Jones)! She’s totally clueless about why she’s been lured back but soon embroiled in Amy and Leo’s scheme to match-make her with their father. Manipulated by “coincidental” circumstances, Jane appears on the penthouse doorstop, delighting Paul, who offers her a bed for the night! His son and daughter are surprised at how easily their plan is working – but even after Paul suspects he’s being played, Amy assures him of their best intentions and pleads with her dad to open his heart and choose happiness... like she and Leo have done. That food for thought proves palatable for Paul as he reignites his friendship with Jane over an evening of reminiscing. Upsetting his kids is the furthest thought from his mind as he escorts Jane to dinner, contemplating the idea of taking things further… On the sidelines, Amy, Leo and their partners marvel at Jane’s positive in uence on Paul, but after asking a few questions about Terese and Leo’s affair, Jane’s thunderstruck to nally learn exactly why she was lured to town. Appalled that Paul isn’t really the changed man she thought he was, Jane packs her bags! She’s not hanging around to be the pawn in the Robinson family’s games, or potentially subject herself to Paul’s bad behaviour, for a moment longer! Interrupting her getaway, Paul nally lays his heart on the line, admitting Jane makes him a better person and he wants that to continue, begging her to stay in Erinsborough! However, Jane remains wary and is blunt in her assessment of him, leaving Paul fearing that his one shot at happiness has slipped through his ngers before it’s begun.
