LET’S QUIT while we’re BEHIND!
Declaring his new marriage a regrettable error, Jack fast-tracks his plans to divorce a heartbroken Nikki Jack
only been married a few weeks but with Nikki deserting her new groom Jack on their wedding night to search for a missing and presumed dead Victor, he’s come to the conclusion that exchanging vows with his favourite blonde, whom he rst wed in 1990, has been the most monumental, dreadful mistake!
Hitting back at Nikki’s preoccupation with nding “The Moustache” over the past few weeks, Jack (Peter Bergman) is now plotting their double downfall. Attacking Victor by secretly buying up Newman Enterprises stocks on the open market, Jack freezes Nikki out at every opportunity... until she nally nds the time to beg him for another chance to save their marriage. She isn’t searching for Victor to pursue her romantic hang-ups with him, but out of loyalty to her children who need their father. She loves Jack and wants to be his wife!
Unconvinced by what he believes is just lip service, Jack bluntly refuses to work at their union, announcing he’s started divorce proceedings and will be rid of her soon, allowing to reconcile with Victor and/or her memories of him.
As an emotional Nikki wrings her hands over Jack and the absentee Victor, he offers no sympathy, cruelly speculating to her and Katherine (Jeanne Cooper) that Victor dead. He’s likely run off with other lover Genevieve Atkinson (Genie Francis)!
