1. Money tree

THERE’S noth­ing like a free lunch, and un­til Novem­ber 9 you might score one at Tweed City as the plaza plays host to a money tree. You just need to pull an ap­ple with a scratchie at­tached. Prizes in­clude gift cards, cof­fee and food vouch­ers. No sign­ing up, sim­ply stop by the tree between 10am–2pm.

2. Sur­faid Cup

RAIS­ING money for life­sav­ing re­sources in In­done­sia, the Sur­faid Cup tag-team surf com­pe­ti­tion at Du­ran­bah this Fri­day is open to long or short board­ers. Com­peti­tors raise funds in or­der to com­pete. Teams then pick from a line-up of four ama­teurs and one pro or lo­cal leg­end. Fri­day 7.30am-5pm.

3. Lego expo

LEGO lovers can de­light in the huge fan expo com­ing to Seag­ulls Club in Tweed this week­end. Amaz­ing dio­ra­mas and cus­tom cre­ations, with many ta­lented lo­cal brick builders ex­hibit­ing. All ages. Satur­day and Sun­day 9am-4.30pm. Adults: $14.50; chil­dren $9.50. Chil­dren un­der 3 en­ter for free. www.brick­events.com.au.

4. Show­time

THE beloved Mur­willum­bah Show is back for its 118th year this Fri­day and Satur­day, with plenty of sur­prises planned.
