■ TWO separate drivers have been charged with failing random breath tests on Tweed roads over the weekend.
Police stopped a female driver early Saturday morning on Florence St, Tweed Heads. The woman was arrested for failing the initial breath test and was taken Tweed Heads Police Station where she underwent a breath analysis which returned a reading of 0.065. The driver did not have her licence with her at the time of the offence. She was charged with Low Range PCA and will appear before the Tweed Heads Local Court in January. A male driver was also arrested on Saturday night after he failed a random breath test when stopped by police on Casuarina Way, Kingscliff for speeding.
The driver was arrested for failing the breath analysis and taken to Tweed Heads Police Station where he submitted to a second test.
The driver failed the breath analysis and was charged with Low Range PCA 0.077 grams of alcohol in 210 litres of breath. He will appear at Tweed Heads Local Court in December.
