■ TWO sep­a­rate driv­ers have been charged with fail­ing ran­dom breath tests on Tweed roads over the week­end.

Po­lice stopped a fe­male driver early Satur­day morn­ing on Florence St, Tweed Heads. The woman was ar­rested for fail­ing the ini­tial breath test and was taken Tweed Heads Po­lice Sta­tion where she un­der­went a breath anal­y­sis which re­turned a read­ing of 0.065. The driver did not have her li­cence with her at the time of the of­fence. She was charged with Low Range PCA and will ap­pear be­fore the Tweed Heads Lo­cal Court in Jan­uary. A male driver was also ar­rested on Satur­day night af­ter he failed a ran­dom breath test when stopped by po­lice on Ca­sua­r­ina Way, Kingscliff for speed­ing.

The driver was ar­rested for fail­ing the breath anal­y­sis and taken to Tweed Heads Po­lice Sta­tion where he sub­mit­ted to a sec­ond test.

The driver failed the breath anal­y­sis and was charged with Low Range PCA 0.077 grams of al­co­hol in 210 litres of breath. He will ap­pear at Tweed Heads Lo­cal Court in De­cem­ber.
