■ CHRISTMAS time has arrived in Tyalgum. The highlight of the season is the Flutterbies Christmas Dinner tonight. The evening features a delicious three-course dinner, a champagne cocktail on arrival at 7pm, followed by performances by the Redland Ladies Drum Corps. There will also be night markets, and entertainment on the lawn. ■ THE Friends of the Tweed Regional Museum team wishes to announce the latest calendar for 2019 is available. The usual high-quality calendar has a fascinating collection of historical images of the Tweed area. Stocks are limited and can be bought for $12 at Tweed Regional Museum, Murwillumbah, Tweed Heads.
■ THE Uki branch of Red Cross will not be holding its annual Christmas fundraiser and street stall this year. In place of the street stall, the branch will be holding a giant raffle, with some wonderful donated and purchased goods as prizes. If anyone would still like to make donations to the Red Cross, they may do so at the Jewel of Uki, located in the front of the old Butter Factory, in the heart of Uki.
