Line up for new venue for dancing

Tweed Daily News - - NEWS -

TWEED line dancers are on the move... literally, and will head to a new mid-week home at South Tweed Sports.

After more than 20 years hitting the dance floor at Twin Towns on Tuesdays, the line dancing enthusiasts will be boot scootin’ their way to the Tweed Heads South Club to show their moves on Wednesday from 1.30pm (NSW).

Line dancer Dudley Wallis said they had been coming together at Twin Towns for more than 20 years, stepping out to the sounds of former Bullamakanka member Russell Hinton.

“Twin Towns has decided it’s time for us to move on from our regular Tuesday afternoons but we will still be there on Monday afternoons from 2.30–5.30pm (Queensland),” he said.

“We invite anyone who enjoys line dancing to come and join us at South Tweed Sports, who have given us a month’s trial so we would like to make to a permanent venue for around 40 people who come together regular to socialise on the dance floor.”
