The good looking restaurant serves some of the finest Asian food in the city with a great collection of Japanese whiskies, Italian wines and sakes. Koji charms with its warm-hued decor which is complemented by origami elements in the form of chandeliers and wall art. I could not take off my eyes from the gorgeous sake barrels that line the wall. Called the ‘Sake Barrel Display’, which is inspired by the ‘Kagami biraki’ a Japanese ceremony traditionally performed to mark happy celebrations, this display is very attractive and adds a unique element to the décor in Koji.

While in Koji, make sure you try the prawn and chive dumpling with crab sticks and tobiko, Chilean sea bass dumplings, prawn kataifi roll, spicy prawn hargao and chicken shumai with wolf berries. For those who are fond of Japanese cuisine like I am, Koji offers experience platters of sushis and sashimis with options for vegetarian and non vegetarian. The waiting staff offered that I try a glass of sake along with the food. There is an interesting section in the Koji menu called Chef’s signature Carpaccio. Koji also has an excellent selection of desserts to choose from and I was offered the tub tim grob which came garnished beautifully with edible flowers.
Koji is a must visit when in Pune in India owing to the elegant ambience, great quality of food, intoxicating drinks, efficient service and a uniquely designed menu! Definitely worth several visits!
