Urban Cyclist - - On Test - Www.madi

This 16-litre capacity from Swedish outfit USWE looks the part, its retro aesthetic and khaki finish a visual treat. It’s hydration compatible, though no bladder’s included. That fuelling capability hints at its popularity amongst mountain-bikers, though the Scrambler’s aimed at an urban market, which leaves us a touch disappointed. Firstly, its volume’s sufficient only for a tablet rather than a laptop. Yes, packing in smaller daily essentials is easy, especially as it features an extra pocket upfront, but office workers need something more voluminous. We’re also not huge fans of USWE’s patented No Dancing Monkey tecnology, a four-suspension harness that resembles a parachute, though feels a touch militaristic and just flops when carried over one shoulder.

Smart-looking rucksack but lacks the capacity for many urban riders
