Urban Cyclist - - On Test -

The retro Echo has a Tange Prestige tubeset in a lugged frame. The long stretch from saddle to bar is book- ended by great contact points, enhancing the liveliness evident in the frame. Creme may not have the racing heritage of some rivals but this is a great frame with good kit for a bargain price. www.cremecy

FONDRIEST SF2 £2,649.00.

Maurizio Fondriest spent years racing bikes like this as a young professional, so the SF2 is a worthy homage to 80’s racers and oozes true authenticity. The Columbus Spirit tubing is light and stiff. After the retro looks, the angles are surprisingly modern but welcome; it’s a speedy, exciting set-up

MOSS DAVIES £2,250.00

The Davies is a multi-purpose road bike, ready for almost anything, including light off-road use with the right tyres. Like all Moss frames, it’s entirely bespoke. It’s made in silversoldered (not brazed) lugged Reynolds 853 Pro tubing. The finish is impressive and it looks understated yet gorgeous. www.moss

With this Raleigh Ti Replica you can step back to the early 1980s when the Ti pro team briefly dominated the sport. The 525 tubing and Veloce 10-speed groupset are fine but not what we’re used to at two grand. The wheels are fantastic, though. It’s a great ‘ Sunday best’ bike but the price is inflated.
