Innsbruck, Austria is well endowed when it comes to walking trails, with wellmarked tracks up high in the mountains and down in the valleys linking the postcard-pretty holiday villages such as Igls, Lans, Aldrans and Rinn. The Nordkette range stands sentry to the north and the Patscherkofel to the south and in the middle, Innsbruck sits, prettier than a picture on the floor of the Inn Valley. Stroll around the Patscherkofel, hike up to the Heiligwasser chapel, head for the heights on the Nordkette with its heavenly views over the Zillertal, Stubai and Ötztal Alps.
