Pike Place Market, Seattle, Washington

-

If you had to settle on one market to visit in the US, you could do no better than Pike Place. First opened in 1907, this is one of the oldest continuously running markets in the country, and brings together fishermen, farmers, grocers, craftsmen, merchants and travelers of every ilk – Pike Place is, in fact, the 33rd most popular tourist destination in the world. Folks come from the world over to watch iconic fish vendors toss fish from one side of the market to the other, but the reality is that this sprawling, palatial space features just about every type of good, service and restaurant one could hope to find in a modern American market.
