The Spa at Bells at Killcare, New South Wales

- By Lana Bogunovich

Blending the elegance of The Hamptons with the relaxed vibe of the Australian coast, Bells at Killcare’s signature day spa is a luxurious and comfortable space located inside a two-storey, renovated barn. It has four treatment rooms and a range of treatments to enjoy in solitude or with a partner in the couples room. Inspired by the natural surrounds of Bouddi National Park and local Aboriginal culture, the spa uses hand-selected, premium skincare products including local plant-based brand Li’tya.

The therapist welcomes us with a traditional Aboriginal smoking ceremony, which sets the tone and makes the experience all the more special. We are given a lovely foot bath and then select our personal choice of native oil blend before commencing the signature Kodo (meaning melody) massage. This one-hour, full body, rhythmic massage, focuses on pressure points to bring the body back into balance. Drawing on traditional Aboriginal techniques, long strokes and rhythmic, spiraling movements are performed using my choice of native aroma oil, quickly sending me into a deep state of relaxation.

A gentle sound brings me back into the room and after I put my plush robe back on, I am offered a cup of tea in the relaxation lounge, where I take my time, prolonging my Bells’ spa experience for just that little bit longer. bellsatkillcare.com.au
