Jock Serong.
Jock Serong is a novelist from Victoria with a thing for the sea. He has written travel, environment and people stories for Surfing World magazine, The Guardian and many others. His 2014 debut novel Quota won an Australian Crime Writers Association Ned Kelly Award, while his follow-up, The Rules of Backyard Cricket, is shortlisted for an Edgar Award in New York. Serong’s latest novel is On the Java Ridge, a tale about a surf charter voyage gone horribly wrong. Jock travels the world talking about his books, which is how he came to develop a fixation with counting geckoes.
