DARWIN ADVENTURES

- Northernterritory.com

Darwin offers a huge range of activities for visitors keen to experience the capital of the Northern Territory. On the harbour, the Darwin Waterfront Precinct is all things to all people but the best thing about it is the huge Recreation Lagoon which has a perfect sandy beach and Wave Lagoon for those wanting to have a bodysurf in croc-free waters. Mindil Beach Sunset Markets is still as popular as ever – interrupt your shopping to take in the sunset over the Arafura Sea – it will leave you speechless. Another great place to see the sunset is on a sunset harbour cruise where you can take in the sights with a wine in hand. Fly over the harbour on the brand new Paspaley Flying Boat Tours, which operate on luxury Grumman Mallard aircraft. Learn about Darwin’s history on a Heritage Walk, and pick up the heart rate at Crocosaurus Cove in the city centre. Better still, head out to Corroboree Billabong on a wetland safari cruise and see crocs in their world. A little further afield – 90 minutes from Darwin – is stunning Litchfield Park with its spectacular waterfalls including Florence, Tolmer and Wangi, where you can swim in pristine natural plunge pools.
