I’m visiting one of the most renowned spas in the country, The Darling Spa at Sydney’s The Star, to experience its exclusive new La Prairie Platinum Essential Facial. I begin my afternoon with a few laps in the hotel’s rooftop swimming pool, followed by a steam and relaxing soak in the spa’s bubbling saltwater Jacuzzi. With my skin dewy and pores nicely prepped to reap the maximum benefits of the facial, I get comfortable on the treatment bed and listen as my therapist explains the procedure and products.

Using the utterly decadent Platinum Rare collection of skincare products by luxury Swiss brand La Prairie, the 60-minute treatment combines pampering with high-performing, clinically proven age-defying products. It’s an extremely luxurious facial and the products, massaged in with expert technique, feel like silk and satin gliding over my skin. While the masks are left to work their magic, my therapist indulges me with a glorious hand and foot massage. Ideal for clients aged 30+, especially busy city dwellers, this facial restores, rebalances and rejuvenates skin, leaving it firm and radiant, and I’m pleasantly surprised to see how plump my skin is, with fine lines significantly faded. After my session, I retreat to the relaxation room and enjoy a few minutes of posttreatment peaceful bliss with a soothing tea, already planning my next visit.
