WILD WATERFALL STAY
Travellers in search of something wild have begun zip-lining their way into the new Shinta Mani Wild – part of the Bensley Collection and one of the hottest recent hotel openings, officially accepting its first guests
from 21 December, 2018. The all-inclusive, luxury tented property is deep within Cambodia’s South Cardamom National Park wilderness in a wildlife corridor three hours’ drive from Phnom Penh. The work and
vision of renowned hotel and interiors designer Bill Bensley, his extravagant luxury tented project invokes the grandeur of what it would have been like to be on a luxury safari in the jungles of Cambodia with Jackie Onassis who travelled through the Kingdom with King Sihanouk in 1967. Arriving in Indiana Jones style,
the first zip-line to the property is 380 metres (the longest in South East Asia) while the second is only 40 metres. Both zip lines cross a river and waterfalls, to arrive at the Landing Zone Bar where Bensley Butler Guides are on hand to greet their new visitors (alternatively, you can arrive by car). Promising adventure and
a stay out of the ordinary, guests might find themselves embarking on a midnight mining raid with wildlife rangers, traversing backwaters on pontoon-style boats or enjoying just-caught crab (barbecued on-board by a Bensley Butler). Shinta Mani has partnered with the Wildlife Alliance – a non-profit organisation, whose
work includes catching poachers and illegal loggers. A proportion of the daily room rate from all Shinta Mani Hotels is donated to the non-profit Shinta Mani Foundation that works to support health, education and development programs for the local community. Shinta Mani Wild is the second Bensley Collection
property – a sister property to Shinta Mani Angkor in Siem Reap that opened in December 2017.
