Ian Schrager’s EDITION hotels, in partnership with Marriott International, recently opened The Times Square EDITION at West 47th Street in New York City, with a goal to reinvent the golden age of this district. The hotel’s streamlined design will serve as a calming contrast to the outside lights and sounds of Times Square. The hotel features the first Michelin-starred chef in the area, with John Fraser’s 701 West restaurant; and a new form of cabaret theatre at The Paradise Club. Expansive terraces off the Terrace Restaurant were inspired by the L’Orangerie at Jardin des Tuileries in Paris. The hotel’s outdoor space has thousands of plants, trees and ivy, offering multilevel gardens in the sky. Rates start from US$269 (about A$374) per room, per night.
