# HOTELS&RESORTS
Hottest new properties to open in Australia and abroad
In the Whitsundays, Daydream Island has reopened to unveil a revamped resort with new dining concepts, bars and waterfront suites. The resort has reinstated the Living Reef with an underwater observatory, and has introduced an outdoor cinema. The 277-room property features three restaurants, three bars and a renovated pool landscape. The educational Living Reef is a free-form coral lagoon that wraps 200 metres around the central building, holding more than 1.5 million litres of water. Guests can join the team of resident marine biologists to feed baby stingrays who live amongst more than 100 species of marine fish, coral and invertebrates such as starfish, sea cucumbers and crabs. The new underwater observatory allows guests to view marine life four metres below the water’s surface. The resort also features a Kids’ Club where children can become ‘eco-warriors’ while parents can make use of the adults-only zone. Guest activities include snorkelling adventures, helicopter tours, and sailboat and jetski hire. There is unlimited access to non-motorised water activities. Rates start from $392 per room, per night.
