Viking to expand Egyptian cruise program

-

Cruise line company Viking is currently constructing a new vessel, Viking Osiris, built specifically for the Nile River in Egypt. The Viking Longship will double the company’s owned capacity in Egypt when it debuts in September 2020. Viking will also launch new five-day pre-cruise extensions to enhance guests’ base knowledge of Egyptology prior to arriving in Cairo. The extensions to Viking’s Pharaohs & Pyramids itinerary will provide guests with privileged access to archives and exhibits in London and Oxford not normally accessible to the public. Viking Osiris will have capacity for 82 passengers in 41 staterooms, joining the company’s other ship on the Nile, Viking Ra, which launched in 2018.
