Hands-on sustainability

Exclusive private island resort Kokomo Private Island has combined its sustainability efforts with its guest experience, with programs such as a Coral Restoration Project in which guests can participate. Kokomo’s resident marine biologist, Cliona O’Flaherty, says, “Having hands-on experience and being involved in these sustainable initiatives is one of the best ways of educating people about environmental issues whilst having fun at the same time.” The resort has also launched a manta ray-tagging program to preserve the vulnerable species, plus it continues to promote sustainable produce and fishing practices.
