The conservation-focused Singita brand has opened Kwitonda Lodge with eight suites; and Kataza House, an exclusive villa featuring four spacious suites – both located in Rwanda on the edge of Volcanoes National Park. The team at the sustainably built property worked extensively with the local community to source most of the building materials from the property’s immediate Musanze district. Suites include indoor and outdoor fireplaces and heated plunge pools, with views of the Sabyinyo, Gahinga and Muhabura volcanoes. Rates at Singita Kwitonda Lodge start from US$1,495 (about A$2,201) per person, per night.
