The Stratford » London
The 42-storey Manhattan Loft Gardens in east London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park is home to the new hotel, The Stratford, which combines short-stay hotel guests with loft residents. The interiors are inspired by New York’s long-stay hotels of the 1950s. The hotel and its community green-space was designed by SOM, the architects responsible for Dubai’s Burj Khalifa and New York’s One World Trade Centre. The 145-room design hotel occupies the first six floors with interiors by Space Copenhagen. In addition to the hotel, the double-cantilevered tower features expansive living spaces, three sky gardens and two restaurants. Rates start from £199 (about A$355) per room, per night.
