FRIDA KAHLO EXHIBIT IN SAN FRANCISCO

-

The Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco, that oversees the de Young Museum located in Golden Gate Park, is bringing the exhibition ‘Frida Kahlo: Appearances Can Be Deceiving’ to this city in 2020. The celebrated Mexican artist first visited the US in 1930, travelling to San Francisco with her husband, Diego Rivera. The exhibition will offer an intimate perspective on the iconic artist and examine how politics, gender, trauma, sexuality and national identity influenced Kahlo’s diverse modes of creativity. A number of her personal items from the Frida Kahlo Museum in Mexico City will be on display, including photographs, clothing, jewellery and hand-painted corsets, alongside 20 of her paintings and drawings. The exhibition will run from 21 March until 26 July, 2020.
