Get your gladiator on

Rome’s Colosseum is one of the world’s most visited tourist attractions. Now, for the first time, you can go behind the scenes, visiting long-hidden gladiator tunnels where men would ready themselves for combat some 2,000 years ago. After a 10-year renovation, you can stroll corridors where fighters once made their entrance to the arena, peek into nooks that housed wild boars and tigers, and see the remains of 80 travertine elevators that once raised gladiators to the arena floor, to the cheers of 70,000 spectators.
