Brain versus brawn
A new trend has emerged in wellness travel, and it’s about brains rather than brawn. The 2022 Global Wellness Trends Report says post-pandemic, travellers are increasingly seeking purpose, personal growth and new skill sets. It says with social changes like the great resignation, people want travel experiences that tap into their sense of purpose, their desire to grow creatively and intellectually, and things that make a real impact on the planet. The report says that increasingly, travel destinations and travel companies are answering the call for a new ‘intellectual wellness’ offerings. Examples include Conrad Maldives Rangali Island, where travellers can work with the resort’s marine biologist to help plant the coral nursery, and cruise lines like Hurtigruten who have new scientific programs where passengers can contribute to work done by biologists on its ships. We all want to feel good – and it’s clear that holistic healing is the ultimate solution. globalwellnesssummit.com
